Shortening the Hems

Lace, tulle, horsehair, net, organza. There are many different materials that make up prom dress hems but they can all be shortened.

To shorten a prom dress we will go through each layer and pin mark the floor before folding the fabric up so you can see the finished length of the dress. Each layer will be sewn according to the specific material and you will have a perfectly hemmed dress, allowing you to walk and dance without having to lift the layers as you move.

​

This is the most common alteration made to prom dresses and the least we would recommend getting done to your dress. If you are at all worried about hemming your dress please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
